The Ryan Moss Photography Tour introduces beginning and seasoned photographers to the general tropical biology and the natural history of Costa Rica. Photographic opportunities are plentiful as we move from the mountains to the coast and will be coupled with workshops, critiques, and lectures. Topics of Photography will include:

• Strobe/natural lighting
• Beach landscapes
• Night photography
• Rainforest shooting and gear care
• Photographing foreign cultures
• Portraits
• Bird photography
• Abstract Nature
Our photographic experiences will take us through many places in Costa Rica and the tour will topics such as:
• Tropical climates and ecosystems
• Rain forest structure, function and diversity
• Evolution patterns in the Tropics
• Coastal ecosystems--mangroves, estuaries and lagoons
• Tropical birds and mammals
• Deforestation and conservation of biodiversity
• Sustainable development
• Cultural diversity
• Ecotourism
• Issues of social justice and economics
What's Included:
• Services of Tropical Adventures in Education LLC (TAE) for complete pre-trip information
• All ground and air transportation in Costa Rica All scheduled excursions during the program
• All admission fees to national parks and reserves, including fees for English and Spanish speaking guides and naturalists
• All transfers, service charges and taxes
• All meals (except where noted) and hotel/lodge accommodations while in Costa Rica
• At least one TAE staff member will accompany the group during their time in Costa Rica
• Educational materials and equipment for the educational and research programs
Accommodations:
Overnight accommodations in San Jose/Alajuela will be made at hotels/lodges near the airport. Arrangements will be single, double, triple occupancy depending on the facility. Accommodations in Mastatal will be dorm-style. There are indoor and outdoor bathroom facilities. Meals will be prepared on site by local Costa Rican staff. Special dietary considerations may be requested. Sleeping arrangements will be determined by gender and available space at the lodge. Accommodations in Playa Palo Seco, Monteverde and other locations will be arranged in dorms or at small, family-run hotels or pensions. Sleeping arrangements will be determined depending on gender mix and availability of rooms.
